the stars, the sea, and sleep.

The drive home made much less sense.
Thoughts woven, stitched more tightly
Than the brake lights and blinkers.
I couldn't put a finger on it,
But five kept me safe on a tether.
The puzzle pieces were stacked together
In loosely packed layers,
All dependent on interpretation.
To wake is just to open your eyes,
But to breathe is the mind's hesitation.
