Behind The Moon

With my retinas still burnt from the oceanic luminescence,
I swayed back and forth until I washed up on shore.
Warmer water came waveless down my back
As it dissolved any salt still intact from before,
But I could still taste the flavor.
We savor what to say
Once the light turns shy from bluffing,
The seas recede a moment
Showing these eyes are safe from nothing.
